    Refined meteorological support for tackling the recent cold wave

    From November 4, the strongest cold wave process since entering this autumn has affected most portions of China. Meteorological departments of China Meteorological Administration (CMA) have carried out joint coordination and provided all-out forecasting services to tackle the cold wave process.

    Recently, CMA-GEPS V1.2 has realized operational upgrade and markedly decreased the prediction error of typhoon track and intensity, as well as large scale heavy rainfall area and time interval.Based on the dynamic framework of CMA-GFS, CMA-GEPS V1.2 has elevated the use rate of global ensemble forecast in the upper-air data of satellite sounding.

  • The 11th AOMSUC and 2021 Fengyun satellite user Conference opened online

    On November 1, the 11th Asia-Oceania Meteorological Satellites Users’ Conference and 2021 Fengyun Satellite International Users’ Conference hosted by China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and China National Space Administration (CNSA) was opened online.

  • Northeast Asia Forum on Meteorological Science and Technology held

    On September 28, Northeast Asia Forum on Meteorological Science and Technology was held in Shenyang, Liaoning province. The forum is held by China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and Liaoning Provincial Meteorological Service, co-hosted by World Meteorological Centre-Beijing and Beijing Climate Centre.

  • Meteorological equipments and services displayed on China-ASEAN Expo

    On September 11, the 6th China meteorological equipment and services exhibition was displayed at the ongoing 18th China-ASEAN Expo. During the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the first phase core product of China-ASEAN Meteorological Development Index was officially released.

  • CMA releases the first set of images captured by FY-3E satellite

    On September 2, the images of Fengyun-3E meteorological satellite (hereafter referred to as FY-3E satellite) is released for the first time, which is about the sun from the perspective of the satellite.
